Founded in 2015 by Gracie Sutton, AK THREADS began as a clothing brand created by communities of women. It has since evolved into a studio that shares expertise, knowledge, and skills to promote a conscious, compassionate, and circular future in the textile industry.

A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER
Hi, I'm Gracie – a fashion practitioner with over a decade of industry experience. Driven by a passion for creating products of value, I'm dedicated to sustainable fashion practices.
My specialities are pattern cutting and sampling, and I'm experienced in consulting on manufacturing for start-ups, SMEs, and established brands.
My journey has taken me from India to Kenya to London, working with globally recognized retailers and emerging brands alike. These experiences have allowed me to develop strong relationships with makers and manufacturers, particularly women-led supply chains.
The women I've met along the way inspired me to found AK THREADS. They're the reason I choose to work with predominantly women-led supply chains, practicing a more inclusive and compassionate approach to fashion that supports everyone involved in the process.
It’s up to us to form change, and contributing to conversations around social sustainability in fashion is important to me. I take part in podcasts and panel discussions for the likes of the Design Museum, and host workshops that focus on reusing textile waste.
My goal is to make STUDIO AK THREADS a comprehensive platform for sustainable fashion services for all. Whether you're just starting out or looking to enhance your existing practices, we're here to support your journey towards a more conscious and circular future in the textile industry
